Mr. Ross graduated from Columbia Law School. Mr. Ross' practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, including litigation in state and federal courts, arbitration proceedings, and special investigations.
Since joining the Firm in 1997, he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of matters, including the following: currently represents litigation trust in state court proceeding against bankrupt corporation's former directors and officers; successfully represented third-party electrical utility in apex deposition dispute; investigated potential derivative claims on behalf of a California-based software maker during its Chapter 11 reorganization proceedings; represented regional municipal money-market fund in connection with improvident investment purchased by its investment advisor; represented plaintiff classes in nationwide limited partnership litigation (with specific focus on class litigation issues), claims on behalf of all classes successfully resolved in $400 million settlement; represented defendant Indonesian entrepreneur in ICC breach of contract proceeding involving claims of over $65 million, arbitrator awarded no damages against client; represented Houston-based software maker in contract dispute with educational training services provider, including injunction proceedings and mediation, matter was successfully settled; represented California-based software maker as defendant in Texas state court injunction proceedings involving allegations of theft of trade secrets and breach of licensing agreement, injunctive relief denied and case dismissed by trial court.
Mr. Ross is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Houston Bar Association.
He is admitted to practice in Texas (1986), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Mr. Ross formerly served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Financial Institutions Fraud Division from 1992-1996 and practiced with Baker Botts LLP from 1986-1992.
