Y. PING SUN
Ms. Sun received her A.B. with honors from Princeton University and her law degree from Columbia University School of Law. Following her graduation, she practiced law in New York City, first with the firm of White & Case LLP and later with Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP. Her principal area of practice was corporate and securities law. Ms. Sun participated in a great variety of transactions involving both sovereign and private issuers. She represented United States corporations, banks and insurance companies; Japanese and Korean banks and corporations; Canadian companies; and Chinese government entities, banks and corporations in a wide range of domestic and international financings. These included both equity and debt, and both public and private offerings. Ms. Sun is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Texas Children's Hospital; a member of the Board of Directors of Teach For America Houston Regional Board; a member of the Governing Council at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University; the Honorary Chair of the Round Table at Baker Institute at Rice University; and serves as a University Representative of Rice University. Ms. Sun is a member of the State Bars of New York and New Jersey. She was raised in Shanghai and is fluent in Mandarin. |
